When this game was in FSPA, we would just shoot for Croc Clock over and over. Any particular reason you didn’t do this? Basically it’s 2 shots then 5M/ramp for 20 seconds or so. Repeat.
It was pretty nice to you with the multiball skill shots, too. It can really start to suck when it lights up something other than 1 to get to 3-ball.
Keith is correct, Croc Clocks seems to be the super-rapeable pointsfest on Hook, and relatively safe to shoot for… the only thing to be aware of, and I know this screwed Keefer at least once, is that apparently your Croc Clocks total is kept in a single byte… so if you already have 255M in Croc Clocks and score another clock shot, it resets to ZERO (or maybe 5M, whatever, total screw). So don’t do that.
Actually from what I recall it was 100M. So we started manually adding the extra 100Ms on when you rolled it.
A conversation at the DE factory 20 years ago today…
“Do you think it’s OK for us to store the Croc Clocks total in a single byte?”
“Sure. You can probably even make it a binary coded decimal… who’s going to score more than 99 million on one shot when there are so many other things to shoot for on the game?”
